Although he was receiving treatment, he was still working on the side. His latest work was an A&E drama series called "The Beast," but was not his claim to fame and wasn't what made him a screen favorite.
His bad boy charm in Dirty Dancing was what really kicked off his career, and he sealed the deal with his compassionate, loving character as Sam Wheat in Ghost with co-stars Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.
For myself, I have watched Ghost and Dirty Dancing several times in my life despite not being mature enough to understand its meanings.
I wasn't even alive when Dirty Dancing hit the screens and was only two years old when Ghost came out, yet I know that I along with millions of others love his work.
So we say farewell to a handsome, intelligent, and very talented actor that everyone will always remember.

Rest in Peace.
